Nate was born with spina bifida and had undergone 11 surgeries and challenged by multiple medical issues. His nomination to the Big Hearts program came from Nicki Loucks, his physical therapist since age one.  She is a very important part of Nate’s life and credit her with a great deal.  The toughest recovery was from a spinal fusion and detethering surgeries in 2016 that required extensive physical therapy to start walking again and Nicki was with you the whole way. 

Nate’s hobbies include hunting, riding horses, riding a 4-wheeler and flying his drone. He is a hand on the family farm and work part time at C & B Operations in Plentywood, MT.  Nate has a tremendous family support from his brother, parents, grandparents, aunts/uncles and cousins; along with the whole community of Westby.
